The newly crowned Italian Sportbike Champion is ready for a new world-level
challenge aboard the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636.
Lucca, September 24, 2026 – Winning the Italian Sportbike Championship is not the
finish line for Filippo Bianchi, but rather the launchpad towards the biggest challenge
of his young career.
Just a few days after securing the Italian title last weekend, the Tuscan rider has
officially announced his plans for the future: in 2027, he will compete full-time in the
World Sportbike Championship with Prodina XCI Racing Team, making his
first full-season appearance on the world stage.
At 21 years of age, Bianchi is preparing to make an important step up in category and
face a completely new season, which will see him race aboard the Kawasaki Ninja
ZX-6R 636.
It is an ambitious challenge for the young rider from Lucca, representing Moto Club
52 Racing Team, following an outstanding season aboard the Aprilia RS 660, with
which he claimed the Italian Sportbike Championship after having already won the
Aprilia RS 660 Trophy in 2024.
The switch to Kawasaki will be one of the key elements of this new adventure.
Bianchi will have to adapt to a completely different motorcycle while, at the same
time, learning several international circuits on which he has never previously raced.
The 2027 season will therefore be, first and foremost, a year of learning and
development. Bianchi will be required to quickly adapt his riding style, understand
the characteristics of the Ninja ZX-6R 636 and familiarise himself with the different
circuits on the World Championship calendar.
However, the World Sportbike Championship will not be an entirely new experience
for him.
Bianchi already had the opportunity to compete on the world stage last June, when, as
a wild card, he achieved an impressive podium finish, proving that he is capable of
competing at a high level in an international environment.

He now has the opportunity to turn that experience into a full-time racing
programme.
FILIPPO BIANCHI:
“The first thing I want to do is thank Prodina XCI Racing Team for giving me this
opportunity.
For me, reaching the World Championship represents the fulfilment of a dream I
have had since I was a child. I have always wanted to compete in a World
Championship, and until now I had never been able to make that dream come true.
It will be my rookie season, and I know I will be facing a double challenge: learning
a new bike and discovering circuits where I have never raced before.
It will not be easy, but that is exactly why it will be such an important experience for
my development.
My goal will be to improve as quickly as possible, become progressively more
competitive and eventually put myself in a position to fight with the best riders.
I will give everything I have to make the most of this incredible opportunity.”
A new chapter therefore begins for Filippo Bianchi.
After winning the Italian title and already proving his potential at international level,
the young Tuscan rider is now preparing to become a full-time competitor in the 2027
World Sportbike Championship, fully aware that a demanding season lies ahead,
but also that he has a major opportunity to build his future at the highest levels of
motorcycle racing.
