CIV Round 5 – Cremona

A highly successful weekend for the Moto Club 52 Racing Team
riders, competing in Round 5 of the Italian Speed Championship at
Cremona

CIV SPORTBIKE

Filippo Bianchi is the 2026 Italian Sportbike Champion

Filippo Bianchi has been crowned 2026 Italian Sportbike Champion with three races still
remaining.
After taking pole position and winning Race 1 on Saturday, the MMP Velocità rider made no

calculations in Sunday morning’s Sprint Race. He pushed for the victory once again and, with
another win, mathematically secured the championship title.

This result is also a historic milestone for Moto Club 52 Racing Team, which celebrates its first-
ever title in the Italian Speed Championship.

Sunday’s Race 2 ended prematurely for Pippo following a crash while he was leading the race.

Mattia Virone shines at Cremona

A very competitive weekend also for Mattia Virone.
The Extreme Racing Service rider, aboard his Honda CBR600RR, started from eighth position on the
grid and fought hard throughout Race 1, eventually crossing the finish line in ninth place.
In Sunday morning’s Sprint Race, Mattia delivered an outstanding performance by setting the
fastest lap of the race and a new class record at Cremona with a 1:36.774, before finishing in
sixth position.
In Race 2, Virone was among the main protagonists from the very beginning, fighting for the
podium through a long series of overtakes and counter-overtakes. Unfortunately, with just one lap
remaining, he lost the front and was forced to retire.
The next opportunity to fight for a podium finish will come at Vallelunga.

CIV – MOTO3

A weekend to forget for Valentino Sponga

A difficult weekend for Valentino Sponga, supported by Team POS Corse.
Valentino secured a front-row start in qualifying with the third-fastest time, but shortly after the
start of Race 1 a technical issue forced him back into the pits, costing him two laps. Despite the
setback, he still managed to finish the race in eighth position.
Unfortunately, the same scenario repeated itself in Race 2 on Sunday. The technical problem from
the previous day had not been fully resolved and once again forced Valentino to return to the pits,
before eventually finishing in eighth place.
Sponga nevertheless remains in contention for the Italian Moto3 Championship title. He currently
sits second in the standings, 51 points behind Spanish rider Perez, with 52 points still available.

CIV – MOTO4

Edoardo Savino confirms his outstanding form

An almost perfect weekend for Edoardo Savino and Team Buccimoto.
After taking a brilliant pole position and winning Race 1, Edo confirmed himself as the rider to beat
by winning again in Race 2.
The result has completely reopened the championship battle, with Savino now just 7 points behind
championship leader Luca Rizzi.
The Talento Azzurro rider showed throughout the weekend his determination, speed and continued
sporting growth.
All eyes now turn to Vallelunga, where the final round of the championship will take place on the
weekend of October 10–11.

Two strong races for Sebastian Ferrucci

Two competitive races at Cremona for Sebastian Ferrucci.
In Race 1, the SM Corse rider started from ninth position, only seven tenths away from pole in an
extremely competitive category packed with young talent.
In the opening stages he became caught in traffic and lost contact with the leading group, but once
he found clear track he demonstrated through his lap times that he had the pace to run with the front
riders.
In Race 2, Seba battled within the leading group before finishing in eleventh position.

The two Moto Club 52 Racing Team riders, Edoardo Savino and Sebastian Ferrucci, will now
travel to Aragon next weekend to compete in the FIM JuniorGP / MotoJunior European
Championship in the Moto4 class.
Immediately afterwards, both riders will fly to Guadix, Spain, to take part in the selections for the
2027 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.
